Compotec manufactures fibre-reinforced composite manhole covers for water, wastewater, telecom, electrical and municipal networks. Frames and covers are designed in line with EN 124, and models are available across load classes from A15 for pedestrian areas up to D400 for carriageways.

Why specifiers choose composite manhole covers
Composite covers do not corrode in wastewater, coastal or chemically aggressive environments, which is the most common failure mode for cast iron in urban networks.
They are considerably lighter than cast iron equivalents of the same clear opening, so a maintenance team can open and reinstate an access point safely.
Composite has no scrap value, which removes the theft incentive that leaves open shafts in roads and footways.
EN 124 load classes
A15 — pedestrian areas, green areas and footways with no vehicle traffic.
B125 — footways, pedestrian zones and comparable car parking areas.
C250 — kerbside areas and gutter zones alongside carriageways.
D400 — carriageways, hard shoulders and parking areas for all vehicle types.
